Carmichaels

The genre for Carmicheals is old school, hard boiled, pulp fiction extortion novel done in the first person and is journalistic or gonzo style.

Danny Basavich world class pool hustler, professional player and master instructor represents the embodiment of the character The Kid. Basavich’s talent at hustling is only matched by his desire and ability to teach others his pool winning technics. These technics are taught through the Kid to the protagonist. If a person were to follow the technics described here by The Kid, they would become a powerful player. The spirit of The Kid is with Tommy during critical games providing guidance and reassurance.

The character Graham wsa modeled after my son Graham who I lost.

The character Frisk was modeled after my good friend Terry Frisk who passed away from Hep C.

Punta Roja or Colombian Red was a pot I smoked in the mid seventies and forever more chased that dragon to find it again.

The hashish production process is based on Moroccan and Lebanese dry sifting and pressing trichomes under heat and pressure to produce the hashish.

Strain Hunters were a big influence regarding large pot fields and finding the best seeds. The Strain Hunter , Franco was parly used as role model for the character Hunter.

The pool shot on the cover of Carmichaels is the last shot in the book to compliment it being the very first shot in the movie The Hustler.
